LoK Preface
[Written by Magnos, edited by Ryuji]
Legends of Kesmai has been around since late 1996, early 1997 and closed May 29th, 2000. Forged from a slightly improved version (although still as messily coded) of Island of Kesmai, it offered some fairly simple graphics and some GUI (Graphic User Interface) new to the series. It was, in essence, Island of Kesmai with graphics and no Advanced Game.
The mythical world of Kesmai has been around for 15 years, and has existed in many different forms. From Dungeons of Kesmai, which was played over a local LAN by a couple of friends using ASCII graphics, to Island of Kesmai - one of the first Online Role Playing Games and finally evolved into Legends of Kesmai, a 256 color graphic representation of the world and it's players.
When Kesmai Corporation was bought from News Corp. by Electronic Arts, many people had hopes that they would be the ones to add new life into the game by updating and/or creating a sequel. This was not to be, however, as EA decided to retire Legends of Kesmai.
(Legends of Kesmai was available on KesCo's GameStorm online game service and Americal Online.)
