Game Changes in IoK Permanent Death In the early days when it was just the land of Kesmai, getting eaten by lair critters such as the Dragon on -4 and the surface Drake meant instant character deletion instead of a trip to Praetoseba. (Praetoseba implemented when???)
Smokey was a lawful bigger bear that wandered the Kesmai surface. Burning the trees east of Kesmai would cause him to come out and attack you. He possessed a +4 blue glowing Shovel (staff skill) and a grizzly bear fur coat that provided protection from fire and ice (dropped or tanned???). Smokey was later removed because he took up too many lines in the source code. A reincarnation of Smokey known as Bigfoot came about later on. He was chaotic and did not carry a Shovel.
Before Ydnac's time, there once was a Drake that roamed the surface east of Kesmai town. (Cast lightning???)
Before the Advanced Game was brought in, the Kesmai dungeon temporarily expanded into 7 levels in order to give higher level players a place to go. Map (Lower levels roamed by ghouls and undead???)
The BBS (Black Broad Sword) was first named Stormbringer (Yes the same one from the Elric series) which later became the BBS. When the sword was first introduced it had the ability to cause the wielder to go berzerk on occasion. - DW.Sea
Originally found on the once 7th level of the Kesmai dungeon. Once the Advanced Game came in and the Kesmai dungeon returned to a 4 level, Excalibur then became a quest in the land of Annwn. Used to be more powerful, but it was toned down and renamed the Sword of Light.
Kosh the Dragon in Leng used to breathe ice instead of fire.
Leng, the desert land, was much different from todays version. The rift that separates the portal and the town was not present and instead was a huge, and very dangerous valley. This made getting to Leng town very tough.
The original Axe Trio consisted of a little Ice Dragon (weaker than Mama), an Ice Dragon (supposively stronger than Mama), and the Yeti. A Drake eventually replaced the little Ice Dragon. |
